OUR
PHILOSOPHY

A Sustainable Approach

We want to preserve the land.
As it was given to us,
leave it to the next generation

Good wine

Good grapes, good practices.

“We believe that wine expresses its life in the glass and if the grapes are alive, our wine will be too”.

The first goal is therefore to produce the best grapes, a result possible only through good practices in the vineyard.

But this is not enough! It is necessary to be genuine also in the cellar, to exalt the characteristics of the territory and the vitality of the fruit.

Cellar moments

Since 1907 in symbiosis with the vineyard

“We are producers who intend to practice sustainable viticulture through the harmonization of traditional know-how with new growing methods.”

Field practices

The Company is committed to the following behaviors: ‍

  • Vineyard management with low environmental impact techniques
  • Traceability of vineyard and cellar practices
  • Respect for the landscape and biodiversity
  • Respect for Workers and Safety
  • No use of residual products and pesticides harmful to human health.
  • Reducing the amount of sulfites allowed
  • Passing of multi residual controls of all company wines ‍

The cultivated varieties are Arneis, Favorita, Moscato, Barbera and Nebbiolo, typical of Roero.

The company has been cultivating hazelnuts for 15 years, at the beginning starting from 5 hectares up to the current 19. They are located in the municipality of Santa Vittoria d’Alba and Monticello d’Alba. The cultivation of hazelnut is the second most important in Piedmont after vine, becoming more and more present in the last decade.

Winery Practices

To express the Roero

The yeasts used in fermentation were selected in 2015 from indigenous yeasts from our grapes.

The vinification of red wines is done in steel tanks in order to have a better control of temperature and the aging is done in oak barrels of 50hl.

The size of cask is due to a stylistic choice connected to the territory and to the winery’s philosophy. The style of the wines, very immediate and pleasing to drink young, implies the use of this kind of containers.

In red wines are not used any filtration but only natural decanting.

The vinification of white wines is done in steel tanks because cleaning, temperature control, stabilization, filtration are all processes which imply the use of this material.
