ROERO

Unesco Heritage

Exceptional living witness of a
social and rural context and of an economic fabric
based on the culture of wine

In the heart of Piedmontese viticulture

“Roero is that portion of territory located north of Alba, on the left bank of the Tanaro river, between the plain of Carmagnola and the low hills of Asti.
As in many other areas of Piedmont, viticulture in Roero has a millenary history: in fact, viticulture developed before the arrival of Romans, since the presence of Ligurians, probably thanks to the influence of Etruscans, and it extends with increasing intensity until today.
One of the elements that characterize the landscape of Roero are its continental soils, based on river gravels and clays, from those of marine origin, where the vine finds its ideal conditions. ‍
However, compared to other neighboring wine-growing areas, Roero is characterized by a remarkable variety of landscapes that, next to the vine, see the presence of woods and orchards”.

Our piece of Roero

The place we call home.

Santa Vittoria d’Alba, located in the southern part of Roero, fully expresses the characteristics of the left side of Tanaro in its steep hills: sandy soils that give minerality, calcareous soils, compact and marly soils, hot summers for a perfect maturation and cold and snowy winters to allow the vine and other important crops, the deserved rest.

All this is Roero and all this can be surprisingly found in the glass when sipping one of its wines.

But Roero is also the souls of the producers who have believed in it since the ’70s, Roero is truth, spontaneity and beauty, history and stories of men, Roero is warm heart and passion but also grit, determination and desire to leave a mark.
